Officers checked and the door handle was brand new with absolutely no damage to it or the door frame. Caller stated he screwed it back in tight but wanted to let officers know. Due to there being no crime no report was written. No Report.
0934 hrs., 7700 block Riverdale Rd/ DOA, caller stated he was at this location to pick up his grandfather to take him to the bank but he would not answer the door or the phone. Officers contacted the complex management who brought the key over to let us in. The security bar was on the door as well so management told us we could get into the apartment how we needed to. Fireboard was contacted and they were able to make entry, officers found the grandfather deceased in the apartment. Notification was made to NC2 of the incident. Report written
1200 hrs., Beltway overpass of Annapolis Rd/ Assist Prince George's County Police, county specialty units were following a vehicle they needed assistance with. Officers spotted the vehicle and got behind it. Officers asked if they wanted us to stop it and County officers said negative not at this time so our officers stopped and came back to the city. 1228 hrs., 7300 block Longbranch Dr/ Check on the welfare, caller stated she has not talked to her Uncle in a week and she knew him last to be not feeling well and had surgery. Officers went to the location and spoke to the male, who was living with several other family members, and he was in good health. While speaking to him, he stated he did not know the caller who was checking on him. He was advised. No Report.
1254 hrs., 5200 block 85th Ave/ Parking complaint, caller stated there has been a vehicle parked there for several weeks. The tag was run with no issues on it, the vehicle was legally parked and it was on the apartment complex property. The leasing office did not have any issues or complaints on it. No Report.

1415 hrs., Metro Points Hotel/ Vandalism and tags missing, caller stated the windows in her vehicle were broken out sometime prior to the weekend and her tag was missing. Officers arrived to speak to the caller who was in the middle of teaching a class and could not talk to officers. The information we got was the windows were broken on Friday January 1, 2021, however she took them and got them replaced the next day at a shop. When she returned she realized the tag was missing as well. She was advised due to there being no evidence since the damage was already replaced no report would be able to be taken. She was told to contact the shop and the jurisdiction of the shop for the tag. No Report.
1457 hrs., Foodway/ Pedestrian struck, caller stated a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot and the pedestrian had injuries. Officers arrived and located the pedestrian and the driver. The pedestrian had minor injuries visible and was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The driver stated he was coming out of the parking lot and did not see the pedestrian and struck him. Report written
