Upon their arrival, they conducted a registration check via police communications. 1604 Hours- Pedestrian Struck- 7900 Block of Annapolis Rd: Officers arrived at the specified location in response to a report of a pedestrian being struck. Upon their arrival, they found a female individual in pain, seated in the driver's seat of a vehicle. Further investigation indicated that the vehicle was a runaway, having not been secured in the park position. The female attempted to halt the vehicle by positioning herself between the driver's door frame. However, the vehicle continued to roll backward, increasing in speed. Eventually, it collided with a light pole in the parking lot, momentarily trapping the female between the vehicle and the pole. Medical personnel arrived and transported the female to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Prince George's County Police Department handled the incident.
