Concerned for the children, the officers checked in with the family. The father explained that they had become homeless after being evicted from their previous accommodations. Local crisis centers and social services could not provide help. In collaboration with the church administration, the officers arranged for a hotel room at a discounted rate for one week, with payment covered by the church.
