0720 hrs., Premise check 5200-5400 block of 85th -all clear

0738 hrs., Premise check 8400 block Annapolis Road - all clear

0800 hrs., Premise check 7700 block Riverdale Road - all clear

0824 hrs., Premise check 8400 block of Annapolis Road - all clear

0840 hrs., 8400 block Annapolis Road -all clear

0855 hrs., Premise Check 5200-5400 block of 85th Avenue - all clear

0912 hrs., Premise Check 5500 block of Karen Elane Drive - all clear

0928 hrs., Premise check 8200 block of Carrollton Parkway - all clear 

1015 Hrs., Follow Up 8400 block Annapolis Road, Met with the store manager to review video footage of a suspect (unknown)  that frequents the business to steal; however, the camera system was inoperable at the time. No crime was verified at this time. 

1035 Hrs., Premise check 8100 block of Carrollton Pkwy- all clear 

1050 Domestic/ 7500 block Riverdale Rd - intimate roommates had a verbal argument over one not letting the other in the residence. It was determined one party is bipolar and needed their medication. Due to threats being made in the past the female completed a Lethality Assessment and screened. She refused services today but will call if need assistance. REPORT WRITTEN

1148 ACRS/ 8300 block Annapolis Rd -chain reaction accident rendering two vehicles disabled and one driver to the hospital. Vehicles were impounded. REPORT WRITTEN

1206 Residential Alarm/ 7400 block Leahy Rd -front door alarm. Front door checked secure, unknown reason for activation 

1229 Accident/ Annapolis @ Veterans vehicle rear-ended another no injuries. Parties exchanged information 

1300 CDS Complaint/ 540 block 85th Ave - supposed selling from the balcony to males in a Black Pontiac G6. Officers canvassed the area and stopped 4 subjects who checked negative for warrants. Officers then made contact with the resident. REPORT WRITTEN

1505 Trespassing Complaint/ 8100 block Gavin St - several males in front of the house. There was no trespassing the males were on the street. Subjects were sent on their way

1600 Premise Check/ 6100 block 85th Ave area was clear

1830 hrs., Margaret Brent/ Suspicious vehicle occupied, two people inside were discussing relationship issues they were having.  They were advised and sent on their way.

1900 hrs., Annapolis Rd and Veterans Pkwy/ Male sleeping n his vehicle.  Officers were flagged down and advised there was a male sitting in his vehicle at the traffic light with his eyes closed.  Officers approached to check on his well-being, and found the man to be asleep with no other conditions.  He was asked several times if he needed the ambulance and he stated he did not, that he was just tired.  He was sent on his way.

1915 hrs., Forman Mills/ Kids left in the vehicle, when officers arrived on scene the Mother was with the children.  One child was of age to be alone but the Mother was away from the vehicle for only a few feet.  The passerby did not see her in the area.  She was advised and sent on her way.

2007 hrs., 8500 Block of Annapolis Rd/ Caller stated the vehicle was broken down and blocking the roadway.  Officers arrived on scene to find the vehicle on the side of the road (Not blocking any lanes of travel).  The driver was contacting a tow truck as we pulled up.  Flares were set up to keep the vehicle visible; however it was off of the roadway.

2010 hrs., While on the traffic stop listed above, Officers observed a male running down the hill heading towards Lanham.  Officers stopped him, due to them recognizing him from a previous incident.  The male runs from his home because he does not like the people that take care of him.  He suffers from a mental illness and the manager of the home was called and responded to the scene.  The Manager got the man to get in the car and took him back to the residence.

2016 hrs., 6200 block 87th Ave/ Suspicious Persons, caller stated two males were knocking on her door and when she did not answer they left the area.  Officers canvassed the area with nothing found.

2045 hrs., 7400 Block of Annapolis Rd/ Traffic stop, stop cleared without incident.

2100 hrs., Business check/ Shoppers, (foot patrol), check clear.

2130 hrs., 8300 block Annapolis Rd/ Traffic stop, stop cleared without incident.

2200 hrs., 8400 block Annapolis Rd/ Traffic stop, stop cleared without incident.

2205 hrs., 7600 block Fountainbleau Dr./ Traffic stop, stop without incident.

2215 hrs., 7600 Block of Annapolis Rd/ Traffic stop, stop cleared without incident.

2242 hrs., 6600 block Lamont Dr./ Suspicious vehicle occupied, two males were seated inside the vehicle that as Officers passed they could smell the odor of marijuana.  When officers approached the vehicle the passenger decided to exit the vehicle quickly.  Officers stopped him and the driver of the vehicle and checked both.  The passenger lived at the residence and the driver was sent on his way.  REPORT WRITTEN

2305 hrs., 6500 block Princess Garden Parkway/ Vehicle fire, as officers passed this location they observed a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.  Officers attempted to put out the flames to no avail the flames overtook the vehicle.  Officers checked and there were no persons inside the vehicle.  The fire Department was called to the scene to put out the flames, and Prince George's County handled any report that may have needed to be taken.

2340 hrs., Residential check/ 5500 Block of Karen Elaine Dr., Citizens complaint of Suspicious Persons loitering in front of buildings and around the vehicles, check clear. 

2345 hrs., 8500 block Powhatan St/ Suspicious vehicle occupied, officers observed the vehicle running, with no one inside, while parked in front of the residence.  Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle who stated he just ran into the house to grab something he forgot.

2350 hrs., Residential check/ 5300-5400 Block of 85th Ave., Citizens complaint of Suspicious Persons loitering in front of buildings and around the vehicles, check clear.  Officers conducted a foot patrol of the area.

0027 hrs., 5300 Block of 85th Ave/ Suspicious vehicle occupied, Officers approach a vehicle they observed running, but parked in the Handicapped parking space in front of the building.  The vehicle did not have anything showing it was legally able to park in that spot.  When Officers approached the vehicle they observed a male seated in the driver’s seat and covered with a blanket.  Officers knocked on the window and the male began to yell at them and throw his hands around.  Officers asked him to exit several times and he continued to yell and place his hands under the blanket.  Officers finally got him out of the vehicle and that is when a loaded handgun was located.  Officers placed the male under arrest; Lt. Lyew was notified of the incident along with the Maryland Gun Center. REPORT WRITTEN

0149 hrs., 8600 block Preston St/ Domestic Dispute (physical), Officers arrived on scene to find a female suffering from injuries sustained from a physical altercation she was involved in with her ex-boyfriend.  The male then attempted to kick down the door but was unable to and he then left the area on foot.  Officers tracked him down and placed him under arrest.  Female half was advised and given all the information for a protective order and assistance. A Lethality Assessment was completed and the female gathered the information to speak to them at a different time.  Lt. Lyew was notified of the incident. REPORT WRITTEN

0300 hrs., Business check/ 7-11, check clear.

0325 hrs., Business check/ Shell gas station, check clear.

0400 hrs., Business check/ Darcar's, check clear.

0430 hrs., Business check/ 7-11, check clear.


0510 hrs., 5300 block 85th Ave/ House fire, Fire Department on scene and could not locate any fire or smoke coming from the apartment building at this time.  All units were cleared.

0657 Hours - Stolen Auto - 7700 Block of Riverdale Road: An unknown suspect stole the victim's vehicle during the overnight hours fleeing in an unknown direction. The victim was provided case numbers and advised to contact her insurance company. Report Written 0807 Hours - Suspicious Person - 7700 Block of Riverdale Rd: An unknown caller advised a male in gray was asleep under the stairwell unresponsive. Officers responded and made contact with the subject who advised he was on the bus all night and needed a place to sleep. The male checked negative for warrants and was sent on his way. 0645 Hours -Premise Check- 8400 Block of Annapolis Rd: Officers checked the area for suspicious activity, but nothing was found. 0722 Hours -Premise Check- 8500 Block of Annapolis Rd: Officers checked the area for suspicious activity, but nothing was found. 0813 Hours -Vandalism- 7900 Block of Legation Rd: Officers responded to the listed location for the vandalism of a vehicle. Officers spoke with the caller who stated his vehicle had been broken into. Officers gathered all information needed and generated a report.  Report Written 1028 Hours -Disorderly- 8500 Block of Annapolis Rd: Officers responded to the listed location for a disorderly male. Upon the officers' arrival, the male subject was GOA.  No Report 1134 Hours -Theft- 7700 Block of Riverdale Rd: Officers responded to the listed location for theft.
